Modeling Residential Segregation

In this activity, students break up into small groups and decide on a modification to the setup of the classic Schelling Residential Segregation model.  Each small group speculates on the implications of their change to the setup, and re-runs the model (using checkerboards and coins or colored chalk) for a few iterations to test their intuitions.  Then the groups explain to the large group what they found and why their proposed changes are interesting.
