Admissions and Border Control

Can and should states control migration?  This easy activity gets students engaged from the moment they enter the classroom.  Students receive a handout when they enter the class (see the handout below).  During the next few minutes, students respond to the questions, which ask them to articulate and evaluate arguments for state control of migration.  After individually responding, they share their responses with a neighbor.  The handout serves to prime students for the big discussion questions of the day.
