Is lecture going too fast? Too slow? Clickers and polling can be used to get feedback from students on how lecture is going. Every 2 or 3 lectures, the instructor uses TurningPoint Technology to give the students a non-substantive multiple choice question in order to get information from them. (This is in addition to using clickers regularly to ask questions about course material). For example, a question might gauge how much background the students have with certain material or how the students feel about the speed of the lecture. Professor Dave Harrington finds this very helpful in his Statistics 100 class.
