In Law and American Society, Professor Terry Aladjem sends out an email following each class with information about the next week's class and a link to supplementary materials. In his message, Terry first says something to sum up the conversation that occurred in class. He then discusses the readings for next week. He prioritizes the readings and gives a sense of the debate within the readings and where the different authors fall in that debate. He also gives a sense of the stakes of the debates in the literature, and explains why he selected those readings. Lastly, he includes a link or something related to the readings, like a scanned excerpt. As this is sent every week, students get used to the structure and come to expect the weekly email.
